Japanese Libraries
The library started with about 700 books donated by Yoko Wiles. Our library is supported by Japan Commerce Association of Washington, D.C. Foundation, Inc. Free lending service of more than 12,000 Japanese books. We have many children’s picture books, manga, weekly or monthly- magazines and DVDs.Library volunteers are always welcome. Please visit our libraries!
** Temporary suspension of acceptance of goods and book donations
To organize the Care Fund storage and secure space, we are temporarily suspending accepting book and goods donations at both VA/MD locations. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
We would like to inform you about the handling of donated books from the Care Fund library.The books donated will be used as part of the library's collection at Care Fund Library and will also be sold as second-hand books at the library and various fundraising events. Additionally, there may be cases where books are given to users free of charge. Please leave the handling of donations to the library. We appreciate your understanding.
We have received many books generously donated by everyone, but we kindly ask you to confirm the following points before making a donation. We accept Japanese books include: Picture books, Children's books, General fiction
We are unable to accept: Specialized/Educational textbooks, Magazines, Catalogs, Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Books printed before the year 2000, Damaged books(torn/warped/stained/written)
Other items: We accept DVDWe are unable to accept: Items such as VHS tapes that are not DVDs or Blu-rays, Items that are malfunctioning, Items with cracks or scratches on thecase or disc surface, Items that are not for sale, or copies

Story Time
Storytimes are currently held in person at our libraries. This program introduces young children to books, games and other fun activities in Japanese. VA library: 10:10 am to 10:50 am on the first Tuesday of the monthMD library: 1:15 pm～2:00 pm on the third Wednesday of the month
